If you’re deciding between new or used trucks for sale, we recommend shopping used. You will have a greater amount of options available, you won’t have to deal with depreciation, and you can get all the accessories you want already installed in the truck. What more could you want?

Reason #1: Incredible Selection Of Used Trucks

When you shop new, you limit yourself. You are only looking at this year’s models, and the features, trims, and price options might underwhelm you. You also may be limited to what is in stock at the dealership, having to wait long periods of time to get a vehicle with the features you desire if you custom order. However, when you shop used, you open up your options to include past generations, a variety of trims and models, phenomenal prices, and, overall, just so much more variety.

With our dealership, you can explore used truck models like the bestselling F-150, its powerful rival, the Chevy Silverado 1500, and their common “enemy,” the Ram 1500. You can test drive all of the options, pit them against each other, and truly see which one really fits you.

At DriveHubler Certified Pre-Owned, we always work to bring in more inventory and stock a diverse selection. We carry many different generations, from models spanning several decades in age to more recent, gently used options. Amid these models, you can select individual cars with low mileage, special features, different paint jobs, and more. We also strive to track down different trim options of the models our customers love so that different drivers of varying needs can find the proper pickup.

From regular cab to crew cab to extended cab, as well as long, short, and standard beds, we offer all cab/bed configurations. We also make sure to carry a variety of powertrain options because we know some drivers are looking for fuel efficiency while others are looking for serious towing muscle.

Reason #2: The Depreciation Is (Mostly) Over

The majority of depreciation happens on a truck in the first year when it is purchased brand new. So, when you shop used, you can get a greater return for your investment should you choose to re-sell your truck one day. Furthermore, some vehicles depreciate up to 60 percent in the first five years, so most depreciation has already occurred if you buy a vehicle older than five years. Let your dollars go further with a pre-owned model.

Reason #3: Pre-Installed Accessories, Lifts, Packages, And More

If you’ve ever shopped for a truck, you’ve likely noticed all the customization options and accessories you can add on. From off-road-ready features like sway bars and lifts to trailer-ready features like special hitches and trailer view cameras, there are so many items you can add to a truck to make it just right for your purposes.

When you’re shopping new models or custom ordering a truck, you must pay for every piecemeal upgrade. It can get expensive—fast. However, when you shop used, you can find pre-owned models that the previous model has already perfectly tailored to your needs. When these customized models hit the used market, you can enjoy all those upgrades the first owner paid a premium for at a discounted price.

Reason #4: Some Pickup Trucks Are Truly Known To Last

Pickup trucks are some of the vehicles famously known to last a long time. The Ford F-350 Super Duty, a hefty pickup with massive towing and payload abilities, stands a 49.1 percent chance of lasting more than 250,000 miles. The Toyota Tundra, Toyota’s full-size pickup, stands a 47.9 percent chance of lasting more than 250,000 miles. The GMC Sierra 2500 HD, another heavy-duty pickup, stands a 41.3 percent chance of lasting more than 250,000 miles.

Because pickup drivers put their vehicles through so much, truck manufacturers tend to build their models with heavy-duty materials and durable frames. If you’re looking for a used vehicle that can stand the test of time, the truck market is the place to look.

Reason #5: Find Discontinued And Rare Models

The current generation of truck models might just not have what you’re looking for. You could want a discontinued model or a discontinued feature in an existing model. Maybe you want fewer high-tech features and want to stick to the basics. We get it; there are many different kinds of truck drivers out there with different needs and expectations of their trucks. When you shop used, you can find some terrific models that manufacturers aren’t making anymore.

Maybe you don’t like driving the same old (or, in this case, new) pickup everyone else is driving. You like to stand out from the crowd. Many newer pickups have similar frames and fascias. You’ll need to return in time and snag a vintage gem if you want to stand out. It’s also cheaper, in many cases, to shop older used trucks. It may be worth your while to get the early 2000s model with fewer bells and whistles to save up to get the brand-new truck with all of the features you want.

Let’s go to the extreme end of the spectrum. If you are a collector or want to get started with classic trucks. Suppose you want a Chevy El Camino, a Jeep Comanche, a Dodge Rampage, or any other unique but discontinued pickups that developed cult-like followings. In that case, you will only find used models.

Reason #6: There Is Simply More Information Available

When you buy a brand-new model, you’re always a guinea pig, to some degree. This is especially true if you buy a model in a year when the manufacturer makes significant changes. Sometimes, changes are good. Sometimes, changes lead to anywhere from major customer complaints to full-on recalls.

You don’t have to be a guinea pig when you shop used. A previous group of shoppers had already tested out the model and vouched for it. A wealth of information is available on pre-owned models, especially slightly older ones. Aside from broad information on the model, individual vehicles have already been put through the wringer and come out the other side with a wealth of information available related to their service history. You can enjoy a vehicle that others have already tried out, with any issues already taken care of by its previous owners.
